Spirit of ’76: Lectures for America’s 250th – Songs of 18th Century America
On Tuesday, July 7th at 1:30 p.m., renowned historical musician and balladeer Linda Russell will perform Songs of 18th Century America. Russell will bring early American history to life through ballads, broadsides, Revolutionary War anthems, love songs, and parlor music as she plays period-appropriate instruments such as the guitar, flute, and hammered or mountain dulcimers. A Spirit of ’76 event, this program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
