Explorers’ Club Raindate
Join Gary Link and other history buffs for a guided tour of Doodletown on Thursday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. An isolated hamlet in the Town of Stony Point, New York, Doodletown was purchased by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission during the 1960s and is now part of Bear Mountain State Park. Doc Bayne, local historian and educator, will lead an easy to moderate 4-mile interpretive walk through the remains of this fascinating area. Following the hike, Gary will show us some nearby Native American sites. Please wear sturdy shoes/hiking boots; bring lunch/snack and plenty of water. Directions and parking information will be given upon registration. The Explorers’ Club is sponsored by the Friends of the Library in conjunction with the Board of Library Trustees.
